    Happy Birthday, Nanny!

    I just want to say that I love my grandmother very much. She turned 75 years old this Easter Sunday. Nanny is a Catholic, a staunch Democrat, a board member of the local NAACP chapter, a retired accountant from the City of New York, and a beloved mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She is also highly opinionated, and quite busy. She is my favorite grandparent, and one day I imagine I will be very much like her.

      What a BEAUTIFUL picture! I’m terribly jealous. I lost all of my grandparents very early.

      You give some sublte insight into her character. She sounds amazing.

      Thanks, Christine. My grandmother is really amazing. She is hilarious, too. She is really engaged in life and that is one of the most important things she’s taught me. Apparently she used to be really timid and shy but came into her own when she was in her late 20s or early 30s (like me!).
