Life is like that, full of words that are not worth saying, or that were worth saying once but not any more ....

Hmm, yeah, it’s all a bit amoral. I like this telling:

Wholly molee - that was some strange stuff. I never read Judges before, so I didn’t believe the wording of it (no way that’s what the Bible really says!). I went to Christ Notes and read the corresponding chapters and verses there. No, it’s all right in there. I also read the commentaries - fascinating. It was especially interesting to see their explanation of what Jeptheh did to his daughter. The Bible says he killed her as part of a vow he made to God, but one man says, well he probably didn’t but we need not “perplex ourselves” over such thing as God knows all. The second commentator says it’s amazing that anyone would think Jeptheh killed his daughter just because the Bible says he did. Clearly he didn’t because God forbids such things. And this wording was probably influenced by a pagan myth.
The Old Testament is pretty stressful!
I’ve been to some wild weddings, but none have topped that one!
stephen, I was thinking of the brick testament too. You beat me to it!
I loooove the brick testament.
