  • Despite the beautiful (60 degrees and sunny) weather we’ve been experiencing here in my neck of the woods, I’ve been pretty depressed and useless. I’m behind in everything, from laundry to schoolwork. There are at least half a dozen voice mails on my cell phone, and I didn’t collect the mail for a week. I feel worst when I’m dry heaving, and best when I’m snuggled up next to my sweetie watching Rutger Hauer be all awesome in Blade Runner.

Yes, my entity-thinking self is not so bravely “coping,” and eating 6-8 cup sized meals a day. I research Montessori philosophy, which embodies incrementalist thinking. Is there hope for me, as an adult? The little lima bean is now a plum, and I’m determined that by the time it becomes a grapefruit I will have strategized my way out of these doldrums.

In the meantime, this video made me happy. I think the little girl looks so much like Peacebang.

I think I might do that, Joseph. Tomorrow. Hey, do you know if you are expecting a boy or girl? I’m trying to figure my odds. Right now, out of the 11 babies I know of being born or about to be, seven are girls. I’m waiting for *somebody* to have a boy!

I feel I was blessed enough to go to Montessori school all the way through Jr, high. I don’t think its a good idea past maybe 5th or 6th grade (somewhere around then, haven’t really done a critical analysis of it), but really enjoyed my learning in the Montessori program up until then.

wanna trade weather? ick, its so nasty here.

and that foot rub thing sounds like a great idea. good luck!

Foot rubs are the best. And also, swimming, or at least immersing one’s pregnant body in water to take some of the weight off the spine. That was the closest thing to heaven for me when I was pregnant.

And that video is hiLARious! She does look like PB.

They don’t talk much about the “pre-partum” blues, hunh? But it’s real. Feeling terrible and worrying is hard on the spirits. It’s like having the flu for weeks on end. It wears away at you. But eventually, it gets better. Your body adjusts to the little plum. At least, somewhat. It’s been a long long time (my son will soon celebrate his 17th b’day) but I still remember the blues.

we don’t know! baby3 will tip the balance of power, if they adhere to one of the dualistic genders, in our family. we thought we’d avoid the gloating for a bit.

aimee feels like it is a grrl. i concur, as aimee is always right. yet every sign seems to be boyish…comments from elders, slower heart beat.

in our circle, many are girls. all except glen’s, and then two friends whose 3rd and 4th babies were suprisingly boys, after both were actually told - girl!

wow, you have to come hang with us.

Best to you. We love Montessori — it’s been great for our girl. She’s becoming more independent and confident by the day, surprising us with her helpfulness around the house.
Ahh, but I remember the dry heaving…

Aw, sweetie. And here I was not even knowing you were PREGNANT!!! What a roller coaster I just rode! (”Oh, I’m so sorry she’s not feeling well… and depressed… but WAIT, she’s MAKING A BAYBAY!!”). So mazel tov and blessings and I’m thrilled!! I just hope you and your lima bean start to co-exist more peaceably together in your bod soon. Sorry I can’t offer any “when I was pregnant” stories or tips. But I will say that you better “watch out, ’cause Darth Vader gonna getcha!”
