  • Yay - I’m successfully updated to Wordpress 2.5. Because I’d spent a lot of time seriously tweaking this wonderful pre-fab theme (Blue Zinfandel), I was terrified of doing an upgrade for fear of what might happen. I tried making a post two weeks ago and the site went all wonky.  So I’ve been silent for nearly a month, not wanting to deal with it. Instead, I’ve been posting comments on other people’s blogs that have been WAY TOO LONG. I thank all of those bloggers for their tolerance of me. Well, turns out that my host (Dreamhost) has a one-click Wordpress upgrade. I clicked. It upgraded. And it all works so far - this post will be the ultimate test.

I’m not sure if my page still looks insane on Explorer. Maybe someone can let me know? We are a Mac household, so I don’t even mess with Explorer.

*confession: I hadn’t updated since Wordpress 2.0. My head hangs low in shame. That was bad, wasn’t it?

      Still works on DiscoverUU.com

      Yeah!

Works! IE still doesn’t like it, I’m afraid.

Thanks, Aaron and Smijer. As for IE, at some point this month I’d like to sit down and log into hubby’s Window’s platform (his Macs can run Windows or OS X) alongside my own laptop and then play with the site until whatever is causing IE problems is fixed. *sigh*

I really don’t like IE. But I really should try to be more accommodating of IE users. Yes, that’s the sound of my feet dragging.

I use IE because I have a PC, and here’s what I see: there’s still a long scroll of white space before each post, but it’s an improvement because the post itself isn’t superimposed over the lefthand column. Hooray! Easier to read on IE. Not quite perfect, but better, definitely.

You probably need some clearer divs. Nine times out of ten, they solve my IE problems.

Jess - what do you mean by “clearer divs?” Do you mean more space between the divs? More divs? Thanks for your feedback. Kendall - ooh, good to know!

      Glad you’re back! I’ve missed your posts…

Oh no! After a few days of your text being centered in the page (after considerable white space) it has now reverted to sprawling over the left margin on the left, and sprawling over the right-margin on the right, with nothing but white space in the middle. I’m sorry to report this. Basically what I’m saying is that from IE, it’s broke again. Bummer.

I had wondered where you were! Welcome back :) E
